Magical towns and local development in Sinaloa: a multicriteria analysis proposal

Abstract

This article presents a multicriteria methodology to evaluate the local development of the magical towns of Sinaloa, which will allow forming a decreasing preference ordering of these tourist destinations using the Simple Additive Weighting method. The results show that El Fuerte municipality is the recreational site with the best performance in the election criteria, followed by Mocorito, Rosario and Cosalá, respectively. Therefore, it is necessary that the issues related to this economic sector, reach interest among the actors involved. Despite there being studies on this problem from the multi-attribute perspective, there is little literature that addresses it under the approach used. In conclusion, this tool can be used to present more consistent recommendations to the decision maker.
