Foreign direct investment and japanese companies in Mexico. Regional, economic and legal implications

Abstract

The text is a recognition of the joint work of Mexican and Japanese researchers within the Mexico-Japan Studies Program (PROMEJ), as well as a presentation of the book on Japanese foreign direct investment in Mexico and its economic, regional and legal implications. The importance of binational academic cooperation is highlighted, the methodological rigor of the chapters that make up the work and the relevance of understanding the economic, migratory and social relations between both countries. In addition, it reflects on the current challenges of the global environment, the historical evolution of Japan, the role of Japanese investment in Mexico and the need to strengthen bilateral economic integration in the face of an uncertain international context.
