Artificial intelligence, industry 4.0 and its impact on the jobs of the future

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a disruptive concept that is enhanced by the emerging technologies of the Industry 4.0 process, which will have a medium-term impact on jobs and labor relations. However, the projections of this economic and labor impact with respect to these technologies are polarized. The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of the objectives and the adoption of Industry 4.0 and AI on current and future jobs. A documentary research methodology was used in order to define and understand how these technologies can impact the scope of jobs and labor relations. Optimistic results were found in the intervention of AI-related technologies in high-risk, repetitive and unsatisfactory jobs for humans; on the other hand, the risks of using these technologies are also identified.
