El rol del profesional de Enfermería en la implementación de la profilaxis Pre-Exposición (PrEP) para la prevención del VIH en México

Resumen

Introducción: La incidencia de VIH/SIDA continúa siendo un reto global de salud pública. En México, la tendencia de nuevos casos se ha mantenido al alza desde los últimos cinco años, especialmente entre poblaciones clave. La Profilaxis Pre-Exposición (PrEP) es un avance biomédico clave para reducir la incidencia de esta condición. Objetivo: Analizar el rol del profesional de enfermería en la implementación de la PrEP en México. Desarrollo: Se examinó la PrEP como método efectivo de prevención del VIH, destacando su relevancia en poblaciones clave. Además, se analiza el papel fundamental de la intervención de enfermería en el modelo de atención de PrEP, enfatizando implicaciones y oportunidades. Conclusión: Las intervenciones de enfermería, como la entrevista motivacional, el uso de tecnología móvil y educación personalizada, son relevantes para mejorar la aceptación, adherencia y retención en PrEP y reducir nuevas infecciones de VIH.
