Student Movements, Latin America, Key Questions for Their HistoryAbstract
Published in both paperback and online formats, Argentine historian and sociologist Nicolás Dip has recently released Student Movements in Latin America: Questions for Their History, Present, and Future, published digitally by CLACSO. The book offers a journey through six guiding questions that together construct a problem-oriented framework for examining the themes and dilemmas through which historiography has approached student movements. As the author aptly notes, “These pages are far from seeking to provide an exhaustive or definitive account of a collective actor that has been—and continues to be—examined from multiple perspectives, temporalities, and experiences across different countries in the region” (p. 15). Within this framework, the following review highlights several aspects of the publication that we consider particularly relevant for guiding readers through its main contributions.
