Abstract

Productivity is the optimal combination of resources, the initial principle of economic growth, and it is the concept that motivated the development of the work, starting from the question of why the productivity of the Colombian economic system is so low compared to the world? Ten factors were needed to guide qualitative research: social, labor, salary, motivation, training, change, government support and policy, innovation research and technological progress, physical infrastructure and the environment. The general objective of this work is to analyze the factors indicated and their impact on the productivity of 17 organizations located in the southern area of Medellín. As a methodological tool, the structured interview was used in a format of 30 open questions, made to heads of personnel or production in industrial organizations and services. For the analysis of the findings the Atlas ti7 version 7,5,10 was applied, and 30 conceptual maps were obtained, a synthesis of them is presented. It is claimed that the social environment is hostile to security levels, but the socio-anthropological stereotype of the “paisas” favors productivity, wage remuneration is low, established by minimum wages, with medium, high education levels Motivational grade, and a job market with high unemployment rates. The productivity of companies in the south of Medellín is comparatively medium high compared to Colombia, but low in relation to the world.
