Family farming and rural food security case study: IEA Guacavia from the multifunctionality and its contribution to peace building

Abstract

This article exposes an experience of family farming as an alternative to the food security of an educational community in a territory, with particular features of context and production. Presented experience refers to a systematization of the experience carried out by Faculty of business agricultural of the University Santo Tomas of Villavicencio in the Institution Educational Agricultural Guacavia from the town of Cumaral, metacolombia. The article presents the stages of intervention and development of a process of family farming and exposes the conclusions that deal with food security, agro-ecology, Community production and environmental and financial education. Similarly, regarding conclusions are presented as family farming contributes to the improvement of the living conditions of the rural population.
