Quality of educational life in public high schools in the north of Mexico

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to recognize the educational quality of life of teachers in secondary schools in the Region del Mayo, using a methodology of the quantitative, nonexperimental, transectional and descriptive type. In the study, 27 schools were considered as population, and 13 of them were telesecundarias. The participants in the present study were 43 teachers from a secondary school located in the Region del Mayo, in northern Mexico. This population was made up of teachers of both sexes, predominantly female. An instrument called: Questionnaire was applied to measure the quality of work life of secondary school teachers in order to know the teacher’s perception of their quality of work life. The participants, for the most part, have bachelor’s, master’s and, to a lesser degree, doctorate. To determine the number of participants, the high schools of the Region del Mayo were considered, and two were randomly selected. The results show statistically, both institutions have an acceptable work environment where participants can carry out a positive interpersonal relationship with their colleagues in the work field, and be able to feel comfortable with the conditions.
