Administrative Diagnostic Guide for Grocery Retail Stores: A Competitive Advantage and Value Chain Approach
Keywords:

This article develops and proposes the Administrative Diagnostic Guide for Retail Grocery Stores (GDA-TAPM) as a methodological tool to evaluate the internal administrative management of Retail Grocery Stores (Tiendas de Abarrotes al por Menor, TAPM) in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. The construction of the guide is based on Porter’s Competitive Advantage and Value Chain theories, along with the contextual adaptation carried out by the Fundación Andalucía Emprende for microenterprises. The study adopts a qualitative approach with two methods: documentary-hermeneutic analysis and key informant interviews, to interpret and adjust the theoretical models to the reality of TAPMs. The results are reflected in the GDA-TAPM, structured into dimensions that allow for the identification of administrative strengths and weaknesses, guiding improvement strategies and professionalization. The article concludes that the guide represents both a practical and academic contribution to strengthening the competitiveness of these traditional microenterprises in a context of increasing pressure from convenience store chains. The proposal seeks to open a path of support for the sustainability and development of this sector.
