About the Journal
Revista Odontológica de Educación y Ciencias UAS
The Revista Odontológica de Educación y Ciencias UAS is a newly established scientific journal of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, UAS), Mexico.
The mission of the journal is to promote scientific dissemination, the exchange of ideas, research, and academic reflection in the fields of education, science, and health. At the same time, the journal addresses issues relevant to Latin America and the international academic community, with the aim of becoming a reference point for the analysis, understanding, and advancement of the aforementioned fields of research.
The journal is currently in the process of obtaining its ISSN. Its published articles will be available online and will be discoverable through Google Scholar, with the aim of progressively strengthening the visibility, accessibility, and dissemination of published research. The journal will also be included in the Journal Repository of the General Directorate of Libraries of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, contributing to the accessibility and dissemination of published scientific and academic research in the fields of education and science.
OBJECTIVE
To promote the dissemination of original, innovative, and relevant research in the fields of education, science, dentistry, and health sciences, fostering the exchange of knowledge and experiences among researchers, educators, students, and professionals at both national and international levels.
THEMATIC AREAS
- Education and Educational Sciences: Works related to educational processes and teaching and learning at all educational levels, from basic education to higher education and postgraduate studies.
- Sciences and Disciplinary Areas: Research from different fields of knowledge, including basic sciences, natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities, as well as professional and applied fields.
- Health Sciences and Clinical Research: Research related to health from clinical, epidemiological, preventive, social, educational, or interdisciplinary perspectives.
- Interdisciplinary Research: Works that integrate knowledge, methods, or perspectives from two or more disciplines to address scientific, educational, social, or health-related issues.
TYPES OF ARTICLES ACCEPTED
Authors may submit manuscripts to the Revista Odontológica de Educación y Ciencias UAS in five publication categories: original research articles derived from scientific and technological research, basic and academic research, educational research, clinical research, and literature reviews.
1. Original Research Articles
Manuscripts presenting original results derived from scientific, technological, basic, educational, clinical, or other research projects within the journal's editorial scope.
Articles should clearly and systematically describe the research process and its main findings. In general, manuscripts should include the following sections: title, abstract, keywords, introduction, objective, methodology, results, discussion, conclusions, and references, in accordance with the journal's editorial guidelines.
2. Basic and Academic Research Articles
Works derived from theses, research projects, and academic research activities, primarily conducted at the undergraduate level and other stages of university education.
This section aims to promote the dissemination of academic works that, due to their nature and contributions, represent a relevant contribution to knowledge and the development of university research.
3. Education Articles
Research in which the central focus is related to education, pedagogy, teaching and learning, educational innovation, assessment, teacher education, curriculum, educational practices, and related topics.
This category encompasses research from any field of knowledge and at different educational levels, from basic education to higher education and postgraduate studies.
4. Clinical Articles and Case Reports
Manuscripts related to health sciences that present relevant contributions derived from clinical practice or cases of academic and scientific interest.
Case reports should be described clearly, systematically, and in sufficient detail, and must comply with the applicable ethical and editorial requirements. References to medications should be made using their active ingredients, and units of measurement must be expressed in accordance with the International System of Units (SI).
5. Review Articles
Manuscripts derived from documentary or literature-based research that analyze, systematize, and integrate findings from previously published research, with the purpose of presenting the current state of knowledge on a specific topic.
Reviews may address advances, trends, controversies, knowledge gaps, and areas of opportunity. They must be supported by a clearly described strategy for the search, selection, and analysis of the literature, in accordance with the journal's editorial guidelines.
The Revista Odontológica de Educación y Ciencias UAS welcomes submissions from researchers, educators, and undergraduate and postgraduate students in the health sciences, education, social sciences, humanities, forensic sciences, and other fields of knowledge, provided that their contributions fall within the journal's editorial scope and represent an academic or scientific contribution.
This approach recognizes that many contemporary issues require analysis from different disciplinary perspectives. Interaction among different fields of knowledge makes it possible to complement methods, concepts, and experiences, thereby promoting a broader understanding of the phenomena under study.
In this regard, the journal seeks to foster an academic and interdisciplinary dialogue in which different fields of knowledge can converge, complement one another, and generate new perspectives for the analysis and addressing of shared challenges.
In this way, the Revista Odontológica de Educación y Ciencias UAS seeks to contribute to the collective construction of knowledge, the strengthening of research, and comprehensive academic development, promoting the exchange of ideas and collaboration among different disciplines, institutions, and academic communities.
