Oral and Prosthodontic Study: Patients with Stomatitis in a Teaching Clinic, Period January–June 2024: A Case Study.
Introduction. Oral health is a fundamental component of overall well-being, as it directly influences masticatory function, aesthetics, and quality of life. Over the years, various oral pathologies have shown their prevalence, and one of the most common is stomatitis, an inflammatory condition that affects the oral mucosa. Case Presentation. The patient came to the teaching clinic reporting persistent oral discomfort over the past three weeks. She stated that for approximately a month, she had experienced intense pain in the oral mucosa, particularly in the gums and the palate. Discussion. The clinical case presented involves a patient with stomatitis associated with an underlying autoimmune disorder, specifically systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), who experienced significant oral complications during the study period. Conclusion. The presented case of a patient with stomatitis associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and the prosthodontic intervention highlights the complexity of managing oral health in patients with autoimmune diseases. Ultimately, this study contributes to a better understanding of the challenges and best practices in oral health management.
