The covid-19 crisis and gender inequalities in developed and developing countries: violence against women, the other pandemic
Keywords:
Igualdad, Capitalismo, Covid-19Abstract
This article analyzes the advances, challenges, and problems in which developed countries, as well as those in development, constantly face, particularly as far as gender-based violence is concerned. Although it is true, there have been great advances mainly in Nordic countries with high levels of development such as Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Countries that are not within the same standards as Mexico and Brazil are still transmuting towards a more egalitarian society. The pandemic generated by covid 19 made these challenges even more evident, since during the confinement violence against women in all its forms increased gradually.
Different feminist theories have made clear the deficiencies of the capitalist system since this, being extremely patriarchal in nature, has not allowed to eradicate or minimally reduce the inequality gaps faced by countries considered developed along with those that are still moving towards that status.
