The history of political parties at the local level in Mexico is a topic little explored in historical research. There is a solid tendency around the institutional history of political organizations in Mexico, but there is still a lack of work focused on discovering the subjective experiences of individuals when doing militant work in a political party in the public sphere. The present article tries to explain the local history of the National Action Party in Baja California, its strategies, the construction of political capital and the narrative identity of some of its militants, who with the passage of time, due to their political work, would become the elite of an opposition party to the PRI between 1959 and 1971.
