Abstract

The aim of this work is to instrument a torsion testing machine of the Italian brand METRO COM without interrupting or altering the operation of its original mechanical measurement and graphing system. This machine does not have electronic systems; however, it is robust and reliable because it consists mainly of mechanical systems. Therefore, it is interesting to use new technologies to improve the user experience, increase accuracy and extend the useful life of valuable educational equipment. The instrumentation process is planned and implemented in the torsion testing machine using electronics (sensors) for digital measurement of physical variables and programming for wireless communication and data presentation with graphical interface.
