We are pleased to announce the publication of the first part of our special issue dedicated to the parasitology, pathology, and health of aquatic organisms.

This issue is coordinated by Guest Editor Dr. Mayra Ixchel Grano-Maldonado and features high-level research from various national and international institutions. Her editorial leadership brings a broad, rigorous perspective that enhances the scientific value of this volume.

Featured on our cover, this issue presents a recognition to the distinguished Dr. Víctor Vidal-Martínez, who contributes an essential critical review on current challenges facing the Mexican fishing industry and potential solutions. His analysis offers a unique perspective grounded in his extensive career and his experience as former Director General of the Mexican Institute for Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture Research (IMIPAS).

Furthermore, we are proud to share that our journal was recently granted official recognition by the National System of Scientific and Humanistic Publications (SNPCyH) part of the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation (SECIHTI)  as a "Consolidated Level" journal. This honor distinguishes journals committed to non-commercial open access, diversity in scientific and humanistic output, and the social relevance of knowledge, reaffirming our commitment to excellence and high-impact publishing.

We invite you to read and share this important issue!
