Abstract

The article analyzes the implementation of the policy of equality in relation to women as a consubstantial part of the socialist construction of the Cuban Revolution, between 1959 and 1990. Within the framework of a bibliographic and historiographic review, some historical elements around feminism and the women's struggle in Cuba during the first half of the 20th century will be examined, as well as some of the contradictions manifested within the implementation of the women's equality policy carried out by a State of a new type (socialist), taking into account the Federation of Cuban Women (FCW), the geopolitical context, political representation, labor legislation, employment, family, etc.
