In the early 1970s, the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) faced internal conflicts due to the arbitrary appointment of a Rector who had no connection to the university. This situation sparked an intense movement among various left-wing student groups whose ideologies sought a transformation within the institution. The Federation of Students of the University of Sinaloa (FEUS) stood out among these groups. Meanwhile, the Mexican government implemented measures to dismantle these subversive groups. In this context, Élmer Mendoza, one of the most prominent writers in contemporary Mexican literature, published the book «Mucho que reconocer» in 1978, offering a literary perspective on the conflict. This article presents an interpretation of the second story in this book, also titled «Mucho que reconocer».
