Submissions

Author Guidelines

Revista Científica FEMUAS publishes original and unpublished manuscripts related to Nursing Sciences and related disciplines. All submissions must be made exclusively through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

Manuscripts submitted for consideration must not be simultaneously under review or accepted for publication by another scientific journal.

General Manuscript Format

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) and comply with the following requirements:

• Times New Roman font, 12-point size.
• Top, bottom, left, and right margins of 2.5 cm (1 inch).
• Justified text alignment.
• Double-spaced text (except abstracts).
• No paragraph indentation.
• Tables (using a three-line format with single spacing), as well as figures and illustrations (in editable format), must be inserted into the body of the manuscript immediately after their first citation in the text. All elements must be numbered consecutively, include a descriptive title, and be cited within the text. When applicable, the source should be provided or the statement “Source: Authors’ own elaboration” should be included.

Language Requirements

All manuscripts must include:

• Title in Spanish and English.
• Abstract in Spanish and English.
• Keywords in Spanish and English selected from DeCS or MeSH descriptors.

Author Information

Each author must provide:

• Full name.
• ORCID iD.
• Institutional affiliation.
• Country.
• E-mail address.
• A brief biographical statement of no more than seven lines.

References

References and in-text citations must follow the guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA), Seventh Edition.

Types of Manuscripts

Original Article

Description: Reports of quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research that provide original scientific contributions.

Length

• 3,500 to 6,000 words.
• Structured abstract of up to 250 words.
• Maximum of 6 tables and/or figures.
• Maximum of 50 references.

Review Article

Description: A rigorous and critical synthesis of the available scientific evidence on a specific topic.

Length

• 4,000 to 8,000 words.
• Maximum of 80 references.

• PRISMA 2020 Statement.

Innovation Contribution to Practice

Description: Innovative experiences in teaching, management, research, or clinical practice that contribute to strengthening healthcare delivery and health education.

Length

• 2,500 to 4,500 words.
