Abstract

Introduction: Urinary lithiasis is a complicated situation that requires public health attention. It is one of the most common urological diseases worldwide, with an estimated prevalence of 1% to 20% of the general population, varying widely according to the characteristics of each region. Methodology: A case study of an indigenous woman with urinary lithiasis. The study was developed following the stages proposed by the PAE, which includes assessing, diagnosing, planning, executing, and evaluating care actions. Marjory Gordon's functional patterns guide was applied to the assessment; diagnoses were identified using the NANDA taxonomy; the NOC and NIC taxonomy were used in planning and execution; and finally, the results obtained were evaluated to identify the effectiveness of the interventions implemented. Results: A 62-year-old female Catholic patient with urinary tract stones reported a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Six nursing diagnoses were identified, and a PLACE was developed for each diagnosis based on the NIC taxonomy. Conclusions: Prioritizing the diagnoses of urinary retention, impaired mobility, and chronic affiliation allowed for targeted interventions that helped address the patient's real problems, achieving favorable results in the patient's physical function, comfort, and emotional adjustment.
