The present work’s objective is set to analyze the management of the warehouse of a manufacturing company in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, specifically in regards to the procedures of the area and the control system that best suits their inventory needs. The study was carried out with a descriptive qualitative approach and in the case study strategy. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the general manager of the company, the chief and personnel of the warehouse area; an application of a set of queries to the general manager and warehouse manager was also utilized; the documentation and review of the operations in the warehouse area through observation was also applied. The results showed that the procedures performed in the warehouse deviate from the ones established in the company’s manual of rules and regulations, for example, some formats used do not match, tasks are not specified or timed, and there are certain actions that were not performed as they should. Likewise, there is a lack of indicators to measure the performance of the area and the inventory control system in place is not the most appropriate despite the characteristics of its inventories.
