Review of the book *The Visual Arts in Northwest Mexico*, by Azucena Manjarrez Bastidas. In this study, she examines the changes and continuities in the visual arts of Northwest Mexico between 1951 and 2015, a pivotal period in which academic foundations were established and the region's artistic production was strengthened. Over six decades, she guides us through the trajectories of artists from Sinaloa, Sonora, Baja California, and Baja California Sur, who explored diverse expressions—painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, performance, and even contemporary works such as sound and video. She demonstrates how both academic institutions and different generations of artists contributed to enriching the regional artistic landscape.
