Diagnosis as the Basis for Educational Intervention

This article addresses the importance of diagnosis in educational planning and intervention, through conceptual variations that determine the study's aim and scope. The central focus of the analysis is the purpose of educational diagnosis, as well as the goals of its implementation. It argues that studies are as complex as the clarity and breadth of their objectives; consequently, the most appropriate means for conducting educational diagnosis must be congruent with the objectives, the analytical variations, and the specific context in which educational stakeholders operate. Given the characteristics of diagnostic studies, they can be enriched with various methodological tools that allow for more assertive conclusions for educational intervention.
