Uprooting And Forgetfulness: The Representation of the Border in Three Short Stories by Eduardo Antonio Parra.

Abstract

The present study aims to address the representation of the northern border of Mexico, combined with the phenomenon of social migration, in three stories by Eduardo Antonio Parra (León, 1965). The methodology is qualitative, based on the theory of space, discourse analysis and literary criticism. It is concluded that the idea of ​​"border" constitutes a heterotopia, since it is contested by the characters, who present an unstable or discontinuous identity and a memory condition; In this way, the territory of the border (the desert, the road or the neighborhood) emerges as a contrasting space.
