Abstract

The work in question is a collection of letters from an adult man to his teenage daughter; both characters are real and alive. The father confesses that he can't find the best way or place to talk to his daughter about topics he considers important in life, and given his academic and teaching background, he decides to use literature. The work is set in the present day. The chapters are brief, each addressing a particular topic, relevant and applicable not only to a daughter but also to a son or to adults. Due to its structure, it can be read sequentially or the topics can be read interspersed in the order of greatest interest to the reader. The book is easy to read; the author has strived to write the concepts in simple and accessible language, for the understanding of someone not versed in philosophical matters. It invites the reader to explore the possibility of living according to the virtues we choose, based on the projects we set for ourselves.
