Abstract

This article proposal analyzes the editorial work of El Informador, a regional newspaper that in its pages disseminated the main details of the Coup d’état of September 11, 1973, in Chile where Augusto Pinochet overthrew President Salvador Allende. Notes from the first page and editorials of this newspaper are fundamentally analyzed with the purpose of documenting part of the events that occurred and, above all, who are the political actors who issued said opinions regarding the overthrow of the head of the Chilean executive as part of a methodological strategy that serves to understand the position of this media outlet in Jalisco.
