This article critically examines the press's role as both a primary resource for investigating student mobilizations and an active participant in shaping public perception of these events. The analysis focuses on the in-depth study of a student conflict at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP) spanning from May to September 1986, drawing insights from the content of El Heraldo de San Luis Potosí. The findings underscore the pivotal role of the newspaper as a key source for comprehending the dynamics of this mobilization.
