Causal relationships between competitiveness and productivity: the case of the footwear sector in León, Guanajuato.

The footwear industry has undergone major changes in production management and applied technologies. It incorporates most demanding levels of competition, given the openness and globalization related to internationalization and export, investment in innovation and techno[1]logy, and even increasing the overall size of the market. Je footwear industry, as an object of study, is interesting by the capacity provided by this economic activity to create jobs, increase the =ow of trade, to investment incentives oriented technology, among others. Under these considerations, the main of this paper to determine the relations of causality between Competitiveness and Productivity of the footwear sector in Leon, Guanajuato. Je methodology is quantitative, with a random probability sample; the research hypothesis considers that productivity within the organization have a significant relation with the competitiveness of it. The results enough evidence to reject the hypothesis and to propose an atmosphere of analyzes SMEs in the footwear sector.
