Diagnosis of a family company in the tourism sector

Family businesses have an important participation in the economy of the different countries in which they are located. Given the particular characteristics that they present, it is necessary to use developed models to study them and understand them better. The work that is presented aims to make a diagnosis of a restaurant company that can be classified as family. Its study is approached from a qualitative perspective using the case study method. As a fundamental instrument for gathering information, the interview was used, complemented by observation and documentary review. Among the main results it can be pointed out that it presents a very small area of conflicts. It can be classified to be in a maturity stage, its results are product of a team work and the management is in charge of a controlling owner. Likewise, the importance that the company has generated in the community in which its parent company is located was known. Even though it has had a good development it has many areas of opportunity to take advantage of.
