The book Inside the Global Economy. A Practical Guide by Andrew Vonnegut, published in 2018, analyzes the global economic system through 13 chapters. It begins with a comparative study of countries according to variables such as GDP, purchasing power, per capita income, inequality (Gini index) and external debt. Examines the key actors in the global economy (governments, banks, international organizations, etc.), economic policies (fiscal, monetary, industrial) and their unintended consequences. In addition, it addresses crucial topics such as global trade, investment, economic growth and competitiveness, reviewing theories such as endogenous growth and convergence. Finally, it analyzes the impact of globalization and technology, and focuses on contemporary challenges, such as artificial intelligence and emerging markets.
