Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
  • A letter of assignment of rights and originality is included, as well as a file with general information about the authors.

Scientific essay

General Formatting Guidelines for Scientific Articles and Books Review

The article must have the following structure: centered title, 14-point font, all capital letters; Full name and academic degree of the author(s), right-justified, 12-point font; affiliation, in italics and right-justified, 12-point font; abstract of the article in English and Spanish, single-spaced; 4 keywords, in italics; it must contain the following subtopics: introduction, methodological note, development of the work, conclusions, and bibliography.

The article should be between 25 and 30 pages long.


Citations and references to works and statistical sources must be in APA 7th edition. Examples: (Valdez, 2012, pp. 44-66) (Valenzuela, Woo, and O’Leary, p. 25, 2012) or (Valenzuela et al., 2012, p. 25).

The bibliography should include only the works cited in the text. The bibliography should be in alphabetical order by the author's last name, first name, and the publication date in parentheses.

All databases consulted should be included in the bibliography, regardless of the source type; that is, list all articles, books, statistical sources, and websites.

Only book titles and journal names should be in italics.

Article titles, book chapter titles, and conference paper titles should be enclosed in quotation marks.

Journal articles should be listed in the bibliography with the following information: Author's last name and first initial, (year), "article title," journal name, volume (issue number), and article page numbers.

Internet references should include the author (individual or institutional), year of publication, "article title, note, document title," and website address.

Footnotes should be used only for additional comments and must be properly numbered.

If images, tables, or graphs are included, please submit the original files separately. Indicate the location of each graphic in the text, using brackets and numbering them correctly.

Characteristics of book reviews:

A book review can refer to a single book or monograph by a single author, a collective work, or several works on a theme or series compiled into several volumes.

Its length should be approximately 750 to 1500 words (10,150 characters including spaces maximum).

The review should offer readers an engaging, informative, and critical discussion of the work.

The review should be published one or two years after the work being reviewed, no later.

In the case of edited collective works, the review should comment on the dominant themes with reference to specific chapters, as well as the book's implications for research, policy, practice, or theory.

The review heading should include: Author(s) or editor(s) name and surname(s) (Year of publication), Title of the book, Publisher: Place of publication, Number of pages.

At the end of the review, the following must be included: Name and surname, institutional affiliation, and email address of the review author.

Book Review

Characteristics and Content of Book Reviews:
A book review can refer to a single book or monograph by a single author, a collective work, or several works on a theme or series collected in multiple volumes.

Its length should be approximately 750 to 1500 words (10,150 characters including spaces, maximum).

The review should offer readers an engaging, informative, and critical discussion of the work.

The review should be published no more than two years after the work being reviewed.

In the case of edited collective works, the review should discuss the dominant themes with reference to specific chapters, as well as the book's implications for research, policy, practice, or theory.

The review heading should include: Author(s) or editor(s) name and surname(s) (Year of publication), Book title, Publisher: Place of publication, Number of pages, ISBN. If an electronic version is available, please indicate it.
At the end of the review, please include: the reviewer's name, surname, institutional affiliation, and email address.
