“From samba to banda”: scientific visits between Brazil and Mexico in marine sciences

A collaborative academic exchange took place between the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), Brazil, and the Faculty of Marine Sciences (FACIMAR-UAS), Mexico. This initiative represented a valuable opportunity to strengthen scientific cooperation and promote advances in aquatic sciences in both countries. Mazatlán, because of its strategic location on Mexico’s Pacific coast, and Brazil, with its extensive Atlantic coastline and vast Cerrado region, stand out for their high-level scientific research. Over several weeks, Dr. Thiago Lopes Rocha and Dr. Jadson Diogo Bezerra, researchers from the Federal University of Goiás in Goiânia, carried out an academic stay in the city and port of Mazatlán, Sinaloa. This article highlights the positive impact of this type of exchange on strengthening scientific collaboration, academic training, and mutual learning.
