This article contemplates the significance of cultivating a historical memory that encompasses the evolving roles of universities in the context of Colombia's internal armed conflict. It acknowledges the university's pivotal role as a crucible for proposals aimed at social transformation in the post-conflict era. The analysis delves into the responsible and irresponsible facets of memory, engaging in a discourse with eminent theorists, scrutinizing constructed realities through comprehensive interviews with members of four university communities, and pinpointing pivotal shifts in student mobilization throughout the latter half of the 20th century. The reflections aspire to advocate for the establishment of a social arena where conflicts can manifest and evolve without necessitating the suppression of diverse perspectives.
