Keywords:

Success in Community-Based Tourism (CBT) companies is based on several pillars and depends on different factors for their success; correct management, good financial management, attraction of community talent, among others. In this work, the dependence of the success of the TBC in relation to the skills of its leaders and the possible intervention of Emotional Intelligence (EI) as a mediating factor is proposed as an object of study. Through a documentary investigation, the possibility that the TBC leaders of the Yucatan peninsula depend on the integrated skills of EI to achieve the success of their sector is postulated. All companies are made up of individuals, and the path to success is accompanied by the leader, and it is up to his abilities that the established objectives are achieved. The findings of this work reveal that high rates of IE can positively influence the leader’s results and the success and sustainability of the TBC.
