About the Journal

HISTORY OF QUIBIOUAS REVISTA DE CIENCIAS QUÍMICO BIOLÓGICAS

QUIBIOUAS Revista de Ciencias Químico Biológicas is an open-access scientific journal published by the Facultad de Ciencias Químico Biológicas of the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa. The journal was founded in 2023 as the result of an initiative promoted by Dr. Jesús Madueña Molina, Rector of the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, and Dr. Eusiel Rubio Castro, Director of the Facultad de Ciencias Químico Biológicas, with the aim of strengthening the dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge generated in the fields of Health, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, and related disciplines.

Since its creation, the editorial project has been under the leadership of Dr. Martha Edith López López as the founding Editor-in-Chief, who coordinated the journal’s strategic planning, the establishment of its editorial and scientific bodies, and the development of the guidelines and processes necessary to ensure the academic and scientific quality of the publication.

After a period of editorial organization and development, QUIBIOUAS Revista de Ciencias Químico Biológicas published its first issue in January 2024, establishing itself as a platform for scientific communication, academic exchange, and the dissemination of research findings of regional, national, and international relevance. Since then, the journal has maintained a semiannual publication schedule and has published five issues without interruption, reflecting its editorial stability and the institution’s commitment to the continuity of its processes.

The journal holds ISSN 3122-4229 and operates under a diamond open-access model that allows free access to the downloading and the distribution of all its contents. In line with the principles of open science, it adopts Creative Commons licenses and promotes the use of ORCID identifiers for its authors, thereby strengthening transparency, visibility, and the proper attribution of scientific output.

As part of its commitment to editorial quality, QUIBIOUAS Revista de Ciencias Químico Biológicas employs a double-blind peer-review system, through which the anonymity of both authors and reviewers is maintained throughout the review process. This mechanism ensures impartiality, objectivity, and scientific rigor in the selection of published manuscripts, thereby strengthening the journal’s credibility and academic quality.

As a result of its growth and editorial consolidation, QUIBIOUAS Revista de Ciencias Químico Biológicas has been incorporated into important information systems and specialized directories, including ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources), Latindex Directory, and Google Scholar. This indexing enhances the visibility, accessibility, and dissemination of the published works, expanding their reach within the national and international scientific community.

The journal maintains a strong commitment to good editorial practices and to the internationally recognized ethical principles of scientific publishing. It also undertakes continuous improvement efforts aimed at strengthening the professionalization of its editorial processes, increasing its visibility, and consolidating its position in specialized indexes and databases.

In line with its growth and internationalization strategy, the journal plans to incorporate DOI (Digital Object Identifier) identifiers beginning with its sixth issue, thereby strengthening the permanent identification, traceability, and citation of its published scientific articles.

Currently, QUIBIOUAS Revista de Ciencias Químico Biológicas continues to strengthen its position as a specialized journal for the dissemination of knowledge in the chemical and biological sciences, promoting research, innovation, and academic collaboration in the fields of Health, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, and related disciplines, thereby contributing to the scientific and technological development of the region, the country, and the international community.
