This case study presents the story of a woman entrepreneur who runs a taco and torta de guisos stand on a busy avenue in the city of Querétaro. Throughout her life, she has faced significant family and work-related challenges; nevertheless, as a mother and head of household, she managed to establish and consolidate her own business. Her daily experience illustrates how she navigates the demands of both domestic and paid work, balancing multiple responsibilities and needs. The analysis was based on in-depth interviews and made it possible to explore not only her trajectory as a micro-entrepreneur—an essential sector of the national economy—but also her emotional sphere and the family dynamics that shape her everyday life. This comprehensive approach offers a close look at the challenges and resilience found in the lives of women who sustain micro-enterprises in Mexico.
