The primary objective of this article was to gain insight into the process of technological appropriation among university students as they personalize their learning environments. Employing a systemic approach, we utilized a questionnaire as an observational tool to discern how this process is expressed in students. A noteworthy discovery was that technological appropriation in personalizing their environment results from a dynamic and selective process. Students make decisions regarding technology use based on their individual needs and interests while acknowledging their daily communication habits and continuous connectivity. Furthermore, we observed the consistent use of digital communication spaces, such as social networks, where students actively engage on a regular basis. The frequent use of mobile and ubiquitous devices was also evident, with the cellphone being the most utilized communication tool. Notably, the WhatsApp application emerged as the primary space for communication in their daily activities.
