The main objective of the study was to analyze whether there is a relationship between the level of work stress and the professional level of workers who work in the field of nursing in a hospital in southern Sonora. The method used was a quantitative approach study with a descriptive transectional design. For the application, the instrument "Questionnaire for the Evaluation of Burnout Syndrome for Work" (CESQT) was used, which consists of 20 items divided into 4 scales which include illusion, exhaustion, indolence and guilt. There was the participation of 50 nursing professionals from a hospital in the South of Sonora, being 88% women and 12% men; aged from 16 years to 50 years. As far as Burnout at Work Syndrome is concerned, a low result was obtained, finding a correlation with illusion, exhaustion, indolence and guilt. In this way, the research hypothesis is nullified since nursing professionals do not present high levels of burnout.
