Toxicología y parasitología ambiental: resiliencia entre sostenibilidad y turismo ante los efectos adversos de protectores solares en organismos acuáticos

El objetivo de esta investigación multidisciplinaria entre las ciencias ambientales y químicas es la comprensión integral del uso excesivo de los protectores o cremas solares y su efecto tóxico en todos los organismos acuáticos incluyendo a sus parásitos como componentes de un ecosistema. Esta investigación se llevó a cabo durante actividades turísticas en reservas ecológicas en el estado de Goiás, Brasil donde se integra una visión de salud única incluyendo a los prestadores de servicios y los turistas. Se destaca la importancia de la ecotoxicología como una ciencia clave que identifica el impacto de los químicos contenidos en los productos de protección solar que disrumpen la fisiología, la reproducción, el comportamiento, los procesos biológicos en fases larvarias de organismos acuáticos como peces, anfibios, moluscos, incluyendo sus parásitos y el papel que desempeñan como biomonitores ambientales. Esta investigación promueve propuestas concretas de conciencia ecológica como: promover el uso de ropa (sombreros, mangas largas y pantalones) bajo el sol para sustituir los protectores o cremas solares y no perjudicar a los todos los habitantes del ambiente acuático.
