Variabilidad en la temperatura de la actividad hidrotermal submarina en la Bahía de Banderas: Análisis a corto plazo.

Resumen

La actividad hidrotermal submarina en la Bahía de Banderas es un fenómeno de interés científico debido a su influencia en los ecosistemas marinos locales y su potencial para aplicaciones tecnológicas. Este estudio describe dos campañas de muestreo realizadas en 2017 y 2023, en las que se utilizaron sensores HOBO™ Pendant™ para registrar la temperatura de la actividad hidrotermal. La primera campaña enfrentó fallos en los materiales y métodos, mientras que en la segunda se implementaron mejoras que permitieron obtener registros exitosos. De esta forma fue posible analizar la variabilidad de la temperatura en un periodo de 53 días, del 9 de septiembre al 31 de octubre de 2023. Los resultados obtenidos muestran una perspectiva inicial en la dinámica de la temperatura de esta actividad hidrotermal, y se recomienda que en futuras investigaciones se incluyan monitoreos de temperatura y otros factores a largo plazo.

    Profesora de Matemáticas adscrita al departamento de Ciencias Exactas, desde el 2008, en el Centro Universitario de la Costa, Universidad de Guadalajara, en Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. Es Ingeniera Industrial por el Instituto Tecnológico de Tepic y cuenta con una Maestría en Ciencias en Geofísica, así como un Doctorado en Ciencias en Biosistemática, Ecología y Manejo de Recursos Naturales y Agrícolas, ambos por la Universidad de Guadalajara. Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores (SNII) desde el 2021, en el área 1: Físico Matemáticas y Ciencias de la Tierra, en el nivel 1.  Su labor docente se centra en impartir asignaturas como Cálculo Diferencial e Integral, Ecuaciones Diferenciales, Análisis Numérico y Estadística a nivel licenciatura, además de Geotermia y Métodos Cuantitativos en posgrados. Su investigación se centra en el estudio de sistemas hidrotermales submarinos someros, pero también aborda temas de investigación sobre la enseñanza de las matemáticas en el nivel superior.
